Hi there--welcome to the Endangered Games tribe! If you're intrigued by ancient and traditional board games, this is the tribe for you! The Endangered Games tribe encompasses board games extant prior to 1888 (pre-Parker Brothers).
A new member just asked me: "Thx I'm a big fan of historical games, like the predecessors to chess which have been lost to chess's popularity...will this be a forum to discuss their historical significance or talk about their gameplay, game balance, and winning strategies?"
While a great game in its own right, chess is also an invasive species. Please do not discuss chess or Go/Wei Qi at length as there are other wonderful tribes dedicated to these games. As for what you may discuss about the other games (history, play, balance, strategy, design)--it's all fair game! :)

Re: The Scope of the Endangered Games tribe
Tue, June 28, 2005 - 3:33 PMThx that's great. Sorry I wasn't patient enough for you reply to my message before posting, but yes I assumed this tribe is more about the Lost games rather than the prevailing ones like chess, Thanks.
